Rev Fr Valerian Cheong

Spiritual Director

Rev Fr Valerian is Spiritual Director of CPS since 2025. He currently serves as the Rector of St. Francis Xavier Major Seminary and the Diocesan Vocation Director. Passionate about engaging with the faithful, he played a key role in the Catholic200SG initiative and is the current Chair of the Senate of Priests for the Archdiocese.


Joyce Lo

President

The lunchtime masses at Victoria Concert Hall had drawn Joyce to CPS around the year 2000. To stay rooted and grow in her faith, she realised besides attending weekday masses, she needed to serve the Lord. That led her to journey as a sponsor in CPS RCIA. In 2021, she began serving as a committee member of EXCO.


Yulita Halim

Vice-President

Through her colleague, Yulita was introduced to CPS Raffles Place lunchtime mass at China Square Central basement in 2013. Besides attending weekday masses, she also introduced a few non-Catholic colleagues to Alpha sessions and journeyed together with them in exploring questions of life and the Christian faith. Feeling the need to serve God, she volunteered to assume the role of Main Treasurer sometime in late 2018. She feels so blessed to be part of the CPS community and always reminds herself as God’s instrument and the “salt and light” in this world.


Selvia Damayanti Tjahjanto

Treasurer

Selvia responded to announcement on lunch time masses at Orchard Hyatt Hotel in 2014 after going back to full time job in Orchard area. Feeling the need to have quiet time and longing for a spiritual oasis, Selvia started attending masses there. God had His plan to bring Selvia back to CPS through her children’s catechist who shared about Virtual Talk series post pandemic. Through the catechist, Selvia volunteered to be the treasurer as she felt the need to show her gratitude to God for His great providence in her life.

 

Sophia Yong

Secretary

Sophia was introduced to CPS in Jan 2023 by Vanessa, the then Secretary who was relocating and finding her replacement. This was at a time when Sophia was also praying for opportunities to be involved and serve God beyond being a Sunday Catholic. She met up with the then President in February 2023 and the rest was history. Sophia is happy to be part of the CPS family and looks forward to many more meaningful time to serve.


Philip Teo

Ordinary Committee Member

Philip’s involvement in CPS started around the year 2000, when he attended the weekly masses at Hyatt during the early years of his work life and continued at Suntec, followed by Changi as he found himself able to focus more during weekday mass without having to tend to his young children. Feeling the need to do more, Philip volunteered in a project that happened to require his skill set . That led to his further involvement with CPS in Exco till today.


Helen Yeo

Ordinary Committee Member

Helen began attending lunchtime masses at CPS Outram in late 2019. Relatively new to CPS then, Helen without reservations, volunteered to assume the role of Treasurer in Jan 2020. This was short lived due to the Covid19 restrictions. Feeling the need to continue connecting with working Catholics at Outram, Helen initiated monthly virtual devotional prayer session for 6 months Her active participation is motivated by her personal experience that it is in belonging in a community that we will grow together in faith journey.


Angie Guan

Ordinary Committee Member

After her Baptism in 2011, Angie attended Tuesday and Friday lunch masses at Suntec and Singapore Conference Hall . She felt the call to serve in CPS and has since been helping in the weekly mass preparation. In serving each week, she felt the joy of knowing that our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ now belong to a community and have an avenue to turn to in the midst of their challenges in their working day.


Brendan Sim 

Ordinary Committee Member

Brendan started attending masses in Raffles Place and felt a calling to do more within the community. He began helping with CPS synodal conversations and looks forward to being led by the Holy Spirit in serving the Church at the workplace. 


Cecilia Loke

Ordinary Committee Member

Desire to serve, led Cecilia to set up CPS Jurong East with 2 other co-founders in International Business Park, building up a small Catholic community over time.   Challenges of function room venues changed a few times but faith prevailed with the intercession o Our Mother Mary.


Christine Wong

Ordinary Committee Member

Christine’s journey in CPS started around 2007 when she attended lunchtime masses and talks which she felt were like an oasis which sustained her through the challenges during the workweek. Being in the CPS community helped her encounter the Presence of Jesus and His peace in her daily life. Her hope is for CPS to remain vibrant, bringing this experience of His peace to those like her in the workplace.


Joan Tan

Joan started her journey with CPS as a volunteer with CPS’ Talks in 2019This continued through Covid where CPS’ Talks were brought to the community via zoom and hybridIn 2024, she started serving as a member in the CPS executive committeeFeeling very blessed to be given this opportunity to serve God and proclaim the good news to the working crowd in the city area.


Michelle Lim

Ordinary Committee Member

Michelle’s voyage into the Catholic faith began as an inquirer with CPS’ lunchtime RCIA journey in 2016. After her baptism, she served at CPS lunchtime masses held at Suntec until the centre’s closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Her conviction in its mission sees her joyfully continuing to serve God and His Church, through CPS.
